Universal Custodian-Hiding Verifiable Encryption for Discrete Logarithms

چکیده
We introduce the notion of Universal Custodian-Hiding Verifiable Encryption (UCH-VE) and propose a scheme of this type for discrete logarithms. A UCH-VE scheme allows an encryptor to designate t out of a group of n users and prepare a publicly verifiable ciphertext in such a way that any k of these t designated users can recover the message. The values of k and t are set arbitrarily by the encryptor. The anonymity of these t designated users will also be preserved. The UCHVE scheme captures the notions of various types of verifiable encryption schemes that include conventional one-decryptor type, conventional threshold type, designated-1-out-of-n custodian-hiding type and designated group custodian-hiding type. On efficiency, the new scheme avoids using inefficient cut-and-choose proofs and compares favourably with the state-of-the-art verifiable encryption schemes for discrete logarithms.

A Publicly Verifiable Authenticated Encryption Scheme Based on Factoring and Discrete Logarithms
In this article, we propose a publicly verifiable authenticated encryption scheme based on factoring and discrete logarithms. We point out that even if either factoring or discrete logarithms is broken, this scheme still could keep the authentication, integration, and confidentiality of the message.
متن کاملPractical Verifiable Encryption and Decryption of Discrete Logarithms
This paper addresses the problem of designing practical protocols for proving properties about encrypted data. To this end, it presents a variant of the new public key encryption of Cramer and Shoup based on Paillier’s decision composite residuosity assumption, along with efficient protocols for verifiable encryption and decryption of discrete logarithms (and more generally, of representations ...
متن کاملEfficient Verifiable Ring Encryption for Ad Hoc Groups
We propose an efficient Verifiable Ring Encryption (VRE) for ad hoc groups. VRE is a kind of verifiable encryption [16,1,4,2,8] in which it can be publicly verified that there exists at least one user, out of a designated group of n users, who can decrypt the encrypted message, while the semantic security of the message and the anonymity of the actual decryptor can be maintained. This concept w...
متن کاملGroup Encryption
We present group encryption, a new cryptographic primitive which is the encryption analogue of a group signature. It possesses similar verifiability, security and privacy properties, but whereas a group signature is useful whenever we need to conceal the source (signer) within a group of legitimate users, a group encryption is useful whenever we need to conceal a recipient (decryptor) within a ...
متن کاملConvertible Authenticated Encryption Scheme Without Using Conventional One-Way Function
An authenticated encryption allows the designated recipient to verify the authenticity while recovering the message. To protect the recipient’s benefit in case of a later dispute, a convertible authenticated encryption scheme allows the recipient to convert the authenticated encryption into an ordinary signature so that it becomes a publicly verifiable. This paper shows a universal forgery atta...
